The Lac du Flambeau Volunteer Fire and Ambulance Department is located in the town of Lac du Flambeau, Wisconsin and provides EMT-Basic level emergency medical services and fire and rescue services to the Town of Lac du Flambeau and to the Lac du Flambeau Band of Lake Superior Chippewa Indians. The Department is a member of the "Mutual Aid Box Alarm System" and when requested, assists surrounding communities and townships via mutual aid agreements. The Department is operated by 30 to 35 Volunteer staff and provides services to an approximate 10 X 10 Mile square in the western portion of Vilas County.

Currently, the ambulance receives advanced life support services from ambulance units Med #5 and Med #4 from the town of Woodruff and Nokomis. When needed, the Fire Department receives assistance primarily from the Arbor Vitae, Woodruff, Manitowish Waters and Bo-Di-Lac Fire Departments. The Department operates two ambulances (Units 9-1 and 9-2) and 13 fire and rescue vehicles. Dispatching services are provided by the Vilas County Sheriff Department, which is located in Eagle River, Wisconsin.

The Town of Lac du Flambeau Volunteer Fire and Ambulance Department works out of two separate Fire Stations. The main station is located at the intersection of Wildrice Avenue and County Highway D. The other station, which is the smaller of the two stations is located at the intersection of Firehouse Road and County Highway F.
